Bequests and Planned Giving

Bequests and other planned gifts provide lasting benefits to troubled children, adults, and families. Bequest giving costs nothing to you now but may give you a great deal of satisfaction to know that your future gift will live on.

Bequests to Youth Home may include a transfer of cash, securities, or other property through a will or living trust. These types of gifts can be made for a specific amount, percentage of your estate, or even a portion of what is left after you have made specific bequests to your family and others. You may change your bequest at any time, and, if you desire, you may make your plans anonymously.

Choosing How Your Bequest Will Be Used:

While Medicaid covers a portion of the daily expenses for our 78 residential patients, there is still a shortfall that totals nearly $1.5 million per year. Your gift of only $50 can cover the difference for one of our patients for one day. Join our effort to change lives and save families.

  • Unrestricted Bequests: Provide a gift to be used at the discretion of Youth Home's greatest needs.
  • Restricted Bequests: Provide ongoing support for specific Youth Home needs.
  • Endowed Funds: Provide income every year in perpetuity to carry out the purpose of the gift.
  • xpendable Funds: Provide a gift that may be spent within a specific time frame.

*Eligible contributions are tax deductible. Your gift will be used for Youth Home's Greatest Needs unless otherwise designated.

Making a Bequest: Tax and Other Advantages

Federal Estate Tax Savings

Whether expendable or for endowment, an outright gift to Youth Home from your estate is entirely free from federal estate taxes. This means Youth Home is able to use the full amount of the bequest.

Other Advantages of Bequests

With bequests over $100,000, you may create a separate fund named for yourself or in the name of someone you wish to honor.
